Heather Bennett Quintet image

Jazz pianist, vocalist Heather Bennett celebrates and performs music her newest album “Lazy Afternoon” on Summit Records. It is a wonderfully arranged jazz vocal recording with a quality lineup of musicians.

From pop favorites to jazz standards this recording illustrates Heather Bennett’s arranging skills and her rather ‘dreamy-like’ voice and its gelling with an incredible cast of musicians…the vocalist sings, the instrumentalists sing…From the euphoric start of Mobley’s trumpet w/ Bennett’s voice on “Zingaro” through a spine tingling rendition of “True Colors” (of Cindy Lauper fame) this recording is done extremely well.

The late Mark Murphy described her voice as "soulful and very swinging," and Time Out New York writes: "Susan Tobocman doesn't just sing the old songs; she's penned a couple of modern-day love paeans herself. We don't think she can get any busier - Tobocman brings them in a three steady venues each week. We hope she has time soon to record even more of her compositions."
