Desmond White Quartet image

Australian bassist Desmond White brings his group to Cornelia st to perform music from a new suite of songs that continues his work of integrating jazz and singer/songwriter lexicons. Having released two albums of such material for Biophilia Records, Short Stories in 2013 and Glace in 2017, this new material attempts to further shirk the often personal or perceived genre-based constraints that all musicians encounter; the marriage of improvisational freedom to cohesive lyrical storytelling often being the perennial challenge. Joining him for the evening are three musicians already known for their versatility and adventurous spirits.
