Barbara Feldon is best known as “99” -- the secret Agent on the TV series,Get Smart. During her career she has performed in television films, varietyshows, and motion pictures, (only one of which she wishes to recall: theMichael Richie film Smile).On stage Barbara performed in the Circle in the Square production of PastTense, the off Broadway musical Cut the Ribbons, and her one womanshow, Love for Better or Verse. Over the years she has developed a numberof poetry and prose readings: Great Love Poetry, Pablo Neruda in HisOwn Words, Jane Austin, and Virginia Woolf.Because of Barbara’s interest in women’s issues, from 1982 to 1984 shehosted The 80’s Woman on Lifetime Network. She has served on the boardsof Screen Actors Guild, The Orchestra of St. Lukes, and The Poetry Societyof America. She lectures on women’s issues and is a passionate supporter ofGirls Inc., an organization created to help underprivileged girls developoptions.Her book of essays, Living alone -- and Loving it! was published in 2003by Simon and Schuster.

Pamela Bob, a New York based actor and singer, has played roles in New York and regional theatres ranging from standard and contemporary musical theater to bluegrass, swing, blues and folk. Talkin' Broadway named her Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in "People Like Us", and she won the Metrolina Theatre Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of June Carter in "Wildwood Flowers: the June Carter Cash Story. Kathleen Lawrence is the author of three books—novels Maud Gone and The Last Room in Manhattan (Atheneum and New American Library); and non-fiction: The Boys I Didn't Kiss (British-American/Paris Review Editions). Her essays and short stories have been published in The NewYork Times, Vogue, Ms., Glamour, Newsday, 7Days, The Antioch Review and The Chicago Tribune. Lawrence has received grants and fellowships from The MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, Breadloaf, Ragdale, The National Endowment for the Humanities, and the English-Speaking Union. She teaches at CUNY.

Patricia Crevits graduated from Columbia University with a Masters in Fine Arts: Screenwriting and Directing. She was born and raised in Belgium where she graduated from the film school “RITCS”. Her background is in Film and TV. She spent many nights video taping Spoken Word and Jazz within the Hip Hop Movement. Patricia is currently writing Mad Cool, a book based on the lives of Marc Edmunds and Lenny McGurr, two graffiti artists better known as ALI and FUTURA 2000.

This month's Songwriter's Beat will benefit the Libby Ross Foundation which raises funding and awareness for breast cancer research. Performers include: Eli-Rose Sanford, Clare Cooper, Laura Cheadle, Amy Coleman and Cathy Kreger.
Now in its 9th year, The Songwriter's Beat is New York's premiere performing songwriter series. Hosted and founded by Valerie Ghent, four up-and-coming songwriters perform new material in a supportive and intimate atmosphere.
Founded in 2000, The Songwriter's Beat has presented over 270 songwriters from the Tri-State area as well as visiting songwriters from other parts of the United States, Canada, France, the UK, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, Cuba and Japan. Every third Wednesday of the month, four songwriters of varying musical styles perform original songs and are encouraged to try out their newest material and arrangements. The series culminates in a week-long songwriters festival each July, featuring performers from throughout the years.

Vocalist Amy Cervini has garnered acclaim in her home of Canada and adoptive home of New York. Her eponymous quartet, with pianist Michael Cabe, bassist Mark Lau and drummer Ernesto Cervini, has released two albums – 2007’s Famous Blue and 2009’s Lovefool – with track lists comprised of pop tunes from Weezer, the Cardigans and Leonard Cohen, standards from the American Songbook and original pieces from modern jazz composers.
Ms. Cervini pursued her undergraduate studies at New England Conservatory, where she majored in jazz saxophone. She is also an accomplished pianist, but has made her name as a dynamic vocalist. Praised by the Toronto Star for her “freshly appealing voice” and Time Out New York for her ability to “straddle the line between confessional balladeering and breezy swing,” these traits have made Ms. Cervini a regular at venues throughout New York – from the 55 Bar to Carnegie Hall – and around the world.
